  • Just a little bit more.... ;-) Actually its hard to say what would be "enough" depends on your definition of "comfortable and secure" Our combined income is around $50,000 US per year, that is more than enough for the two of us, our small rental and our plans for the future. We do not have children and will not have children. We have already saved up enough to make a substantial down payment on property - we are however sticking with our plans which in a few more years we will make that purchase, I will build a house, etc. Of course our initial plans were laid out in the late 1990's, things have changed, inflation has been a B#$%! if things continue then we might have needed to make twice as much to have a comfortable and secure future.
  • i think i would be comfortable at around $45,000 a year for just me. this would provide for paying all of my bills without worry, a couple of short vacations, and enough discretionary spending not to feel deprived of something i really want.
  • Enough to buy a raincoat (to shelter under), a glass of bubbly (to share with a friend), and a computer and sketchbook (to fulfill my creative destiny.) And about $50,000 a year.
  • money is printed at terrible interest and I suck at math I'll say 70 k yearly would be enough to get my kids in college and make me comfy
  • I was comfortable earning $1.00 per week at my first job at age six and when I retired earning $200,000 per year at age 55 nearly fifteen years ago, working non-stop for the entire period. I always kept my feet on the ground...and, never disappointed or feeling sorry for myself, was always prepared to live this life as best I could, knowing I was the one most in control.
