2) "The worst "tap" water we had was actually in a pub in wales near the Elan valley reservoirs and tasted awful. Also in the Isle of Wight we had a jug of water bought to the table and I could smell the chlorine just with the jug sitting on the table."

- "At least 2.6 billion people have no access to a toilet. Half of them are forced to defecate in the open, fouling their own drinking water, according to the Water Supply & Sanitation Collaborative Council. About 3 billion people—nearly half the world's population—have no tap water and must lug heavy jugs of water miles to their homes every day. Even then the water is often contaminated with industrial pollutants or teeming with pathogens.
The result is breathtaking. Of children who die before their fifth birthday in Ethiopia, Bangladesh, India, and other developing countries, 17% do so from preventable water-borne diseases, typically succumbing to dehydration from diarrhea. That's a death rate greater than those for malaria and AIDS, according to the World Health Organization."

Vacaville Horrible.
Santa clara has the worst...toooooooo much clorine in the water.
Results released today, LA has the best. I think the test was held in LA so I'm a little suspicious:). Didn't catch who came in last.
I have heard that Chicago has the best tap water, and that Boston is pretty bad. I don't know the validity of that though
We have great tap water here in Denver - comes from the Rockies!
I think most cities on a coast have terrible water.
Houston, Texas must have the best - they bottle and sell it
I spend time in Kincheloe, MI a small town in the upper peninsula. They have a sign that says they were voted best tasting water in Michigan. The town is one block long and home to 5 prisons and an airport.
Grew up in Detroit, surprisingly one of the best drinking water systems in the nation.
Worst I had was Pascagolua, MS - the toilet grew a brown slime sitting in the bowl just overnight! We installed a purification filter on the kitchen tap that was supposed to last 6 months and was clogged in 1 week. And as gross as it sounds, I had an itchy rear end for the entire 6 months I was there that cleared up within a week of moving away...had to be the bad water.
Gary, Indiana has AMAZING water. I think it's teh clean air which makes it taste so refreshing. Patterson, NJ is a close 2nd.
Adelaide has disgusting tap water, has all kinds of crap in it believe its even hard water
Brooklyn has the BEST tap water... I don't know why but it is amazing...
Collin County TX (i.e. Dallas) has the WORST tap water. They get this algae growth in the hot summer that makes the water taste like dirt. They claim the algae is harmless but boy does it taste terrible. When my parents visit from Kansas City they can hardly shower in it. BTW. Kansas City tends to have pretty good tap water.
St Louis has the best Tap water i have ever had
Florida has bad water
Chicago is OK
DC is OK
Vegas is bad
Best I have had anywhere is "Chrystal Springs, Sask., Canada" ... worst I have had here in Canada is Quebec City ... worst anywhere I have been was Bangkok.
I was in a small town (very small about 200 people) in NFLD and the tap water was a brownish colour. didn't try it couldn't work up the courage to drink it.
Washington,DC's tap water is the absolute worst I've ever tasted. It was so bad, I just had to put some in a bottle and bring it home for my wife to verify that it tasted... and smelled like sewage.
Melbourne water is great from the tap. Can't say much about Sydney, but Brisbane water is awful.
Adelaide, last time I had it, could hold up the stirring spoon. You'd put coffee in it to make it clearer. You could use it in place of mortar. You could make ice sculptures at room temperature.
Tijuana is one of the worst. They tell you not to drink it.
IIRC the water used by Provo, Utah comes straight from the river that goes over Bridal Veil falls, which are just outside of town.
My choice for the best for now is Provo.
The last time I drank the water used by Santa Barbara, CA it tasted like sulfur.
if city water tasted good then they would not be selling bottoled water that tastes good
