    Esperanto is even easier than Spanish, because there are no irregular forms to memorize, but it's agreed by people who have studied many languages that Spanish is by far the easiest. This is true for people who speak other languages than English, at least, other European languages. The great linguist Mario Pei reported that when Japanese, Koreans, and Chinese have to communicate, it's easiest for them to learn English than to learn each other's language--English has much less grammar and fewer forms to memorize. (Our verbs, for example, have only five forms; ancient Greek verbs have 729--I once counted.)

    Esperanto is the easiest, because there are no weird things to memorize it is agreed by people who know many languages that Spanish is by far the easiest.
