It is, by definition, somewhat unsanitary.
While the corpse isn't going to be offended, the
living relatives of the corpse might not like the idea.
Given that sex is best enjoyed in the context of a relationship with emotional intimacy (Gawd! I'm so 'Old School'...;-D...), engaging in necrophilia automatically rules out that aspect.
I see it as offensive but not prima facie harmful.
If you're going to do it, please take great pains to not let me know about.

I suppose. Since sexual activity is by it's nature supposed to lead to birth, and that's simply impossible with a corpse.
So I guess intrinsically it's a pointless act more than "wrong" act

I may be a bit off, but isnt havign sex with a dead person more like raping someone? Since you dont have their consent. Also, it seems a bit gross (dirty as well as violating someone).

How many reasons do you want?
1)you do not have the permission of the dead to have sex with them
2)the dead are at rest. let them rest
3)it is unhygenic
4)it is a sign of a sick mind as sex is for the living and for procreation.
5) it is against God's law. There is not a group on this planet, no matter what belief, which accepts it.

Everybody always makes the immediate argument about consent. What if there were a "necrophiles" club. Everybody has a will, giving explicit permission for anybody else in the club to have their way with their body after they died. Not only would there be consent, but all of the people in the club would actually want this to happen to them in death. And, of course, while still alive club members would be able to enjoy this particular past-time (pun intended maybe) with the recently deceased.
It would make an interesting novel...

you can get consent, before the person dies. it has happened.
there are peoples that do practice it and accept it. look up Aghori. just because a 'group on this planet' accepts a practice doesn't make it wrong or right.
to really answer this question, its best to define what is 'wrong'... but so far, i don't see that there is anything _intrinsically wrong_ with necrophilia.
if you don't use a rubber, if the family might find out and wouldnt approve, if you didn't make an agreement before the person died and you're going to feel guilty about it, if youre trying to lead a procreative, vanilla, God-fearing lifestyle that would offend no one, then.....depending on your situation, it might just be best to avoid necrophilia.
all that aside... i don't think theres anything intrinsically wrong with necrophilia.
