Help answer this question below.

I had music and picture files saved on my desktop on my laptop.I did not save in the C drive, only on the desktop. Laptop has crashed.I took out the harddrive. But no files. How can i get the music and pictures back from crashed laptop from

    The information on the desktop *is* on the C drive. Specifically, those files will be at c:documents and settings<profile name>desktop

    If the hard drive is no longer in the computer you cannot get to those files. However, even if the hard drive was corrupted, it's possible that the files are still accessible. If you can find a way to install the drive as a second drive on that or another computer, you should be able to retrieve the files and put them in a safe place.
