  • You may have air still in the system, especially if the master cylinder wasn't bench bled. Otherwise, the problem must be somewhere. Leaking or faulty calipers and wheel cylinders may not always leak where you can see it. Anytime a leak is close to a wheel it can be hard to find. It's also possible that the new master cylinder is just bad. This problem should not be related to the brake booster at all. The booster makes the brakes easier to apply, and therefore, if faulty, will make the pedal harder.
