Yes you can but a parachute will be more useful!

You might have to eat it on the plane! I'm not sure how Immigration and customs is in Ireland, but if it's anything like the US, you can't bring in fruits, veggies or dairy (I'm assuming a cake has dairy in it). So you should call the airline, they might be able to give you a definite answer. (P.S--sneaking food into a country can be bad! Especially if you get caught!)
