Why do people who don't want to have any
children get called, "selfish," by people who
think you must have kids?

My brother and sister in law do not want any children and I completly respect their decision. It makes me so mad when people constantly question them about having kids. They have been married almost 10 years and they are very gracious when people try to convince them otherwise. She says it does not bother her anymore so I guess I shouldn't let it bother me either.

I keep seeing this question. Who are these people who call other people names? Why on earth would it be anybody's business whether you have kids or not? If it's a relative who was hoping for Grandkids, or Nieces and Nephews, it might be because they feel cheated out of an extended family.

The people that call others selfish, are probably old school & live the traditional lifestyle. This won't be in question much longer though because this generation & down, in general, are changing the tradition of family lifestyles, won't be much longer now before it will be the trend to stay married for only 5yrs. & have it be acceptable. Without loosing everthing you own.

Labels are projections. People project for the purpose of defining themselves. The use of projection is only possible by a mind uncertain of its identity.
