  • Indeed, there is no going to the bathroom alone. Sometimes I am afraid of stopping to quickly for fear he might litterally get stuck in my ass. A 120 dobe would not be pleasant in he were to get stuck there.
  • Yes, the dog jumps off his chair, and lays down outside the bathroom door, or on the kitchen floor, or under my feet in the bedroom while I'm trying to put clothes away. He gets in the way when I try to answer the phone. When I had two dogs, they both followed me everywhere, and often had disagreements about which one would be closest to me.
  • ahhhh they all do ain't it great :)
  • No but my bloody cat does and it drives me nuts, even when i go to the loo or have a shower she is there looking at me with her cute little face lol.
  • if i had a pet dog i would love for him to do that. i wish birds were less scared.
  • One does and the other doesn't. Ducky, my spaniel, is my shadow. Here he is taking a nap :)
  • Unfortunately I don't have a dog... However, I have a kitty who acts as those shes the morning warden meowing non-stop and trots up and down the hallway starting 5 minutes before my alarm goes off and doesn't stop until I get out of bed where she proceeds to follow me everywhere I go until I leave for work... It's the cutest thing ever!!!
  • Dogs AND cats do that here.
  • Yeah, my dog does the same thing... but it doesn't bother me.... Dogs love the company of their companions... they love attention as well... But sometimes I think my dog follows me around just in case I drop some food or something...lol... They also love to eat!
  • Yes, my dog follows me around too. I don't mind though. He gives me good company.
  • The younger one, Abby, does..... She's also recently learned how to "open" door handles, and has taken it upon herself to surprise me in the bathroom.... We have the kind of door knobs that are elongated handles, not round knobs....it's actually quite impressive watching her do it, but weird to have her stare at you while you are in the shower......
  • They both follow my wife.
  • Audio's right, they both follow me around like I have steaks shoved down my pantyhose! Make them go away......
  • yep..both of mine do that and every once and awhile the cat will if he gets a treat out of it...if you don't latch the bathroom door all the way they will come in!!
  • no...but i wish my sister didn't >_<
  • Our Border Collie is like our shadow. I believe he suffers from loss depression. Bathroom, bedroom, any room....he is there. And he is really good at stalking us.
  • My daughter's dog would do that if she didn't keep him in her bedroom all the time. My two cats follow me too much, I almost trip over them.
  • AND I know why he/she does, you have pockets so if he/she finds something you can carry it for them!
  • Yes and I fall over him frequently.
  • Yes, except I have 5 dogs, so it is like a procession!
  • yes i have three dogs who all follow me about - it worries me as i wonder whether they're unhappy?!
  • CONSTANTLY!!! But he was born to do this. Shih-tzus were bred to stay at the feet of Chinese royalty to keep the feet warm. It is in his nature to do this :)
  • Our four dogs follow my wife around, constantly. If they know she's going to be doing something they're not interested in (laundry, bathroom, sit on the computer in her office), they will come into the living room and lay on the couch, waiting for the right noise, then they run to her and jump around. (Kinda hard on her - She's 5'-0" and three are black lab mixes - Here are pix: http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/2445803 - and they all scratch and push.) When she's at work, they lay around, sadly. When she comes home, they meet her at the door, jumping all over her. When she sleeps in bed, Jake (the little one) is between her and me, in and out from under the covers all night, and growling if we get too close, and Kirby (the smaller BL) is laying against her legs. The other two will USUALLY be on the floor on her side of the bed. When she's on the couch, watching TV or taking a nap, Jake is usually in front of her, on her lap, or above her on the back of the couch, and Kirby and KC are laying on, under or by her feet, sometimes trading off. Shelby (the older one) tends to simply want to get petted at times, and sometimes she (and the other BLs) think they're lap dogs. They greet people at the door like they're grandma and grandpa coming for a visit. How do the act with me? See http://www.answerbag.com/a_view/3520242 (If I'm home alone, they will NOT come into the bedroom usually, or one or two will lay on my wife's side on the floor. Of course, if there's a thunderstorm, Kirby's usually next to me, but the others tend to just know I'm around.) [EDIT 05/19/2009 - We lost the two cats described previously (maybe in other questions), but my wife brought one home that had been hanging around. We named him Maow, because the damn thing can't seem to stop "talking". I've NEVER heard a cat meow like him... Almost like he's saying complete sentences when he does. He chases almost EVERYTHING that's on the floor, including shadows and light, bugs, lint, etc. He lays on my wheelchair when I'm at the computer, and when I get up, he raises his head, and meows at me. If I go to sit there, he MAY jump off right away, but will usually sit there until I bump the pillow hard enough, then he jumps off and is like someone who just woke up in the morning... Standing and staring. My wife WANTS to hold and pet him, at times, but he jumps away from her (maybe because of Jake), and will jump up on the arm of my recliner, bumping my left hand (makes it REAL hard to type answers) until I pet him, or knock him off the arm. When anyone goes to the bathroom, he charges in, gets in the tub, and looks at the tap for drips. Sometimes we turn it on a bit, then back off, so his "drips" come faster. He's the craziest cat I've had in some time! ;-) ] Yep... A LOT like two-year-olds! ;-)
  • Our dogs must have a common gene, mine do that too!
  • My dog does that it gets real annoying. She is a big boxer and she knocks stuff over when she jumps up to follow my dad. she listens more to adult men then anything.
  • she even jumped in the shower a few times
  • yep its adorable
  • no. but my cat does. i dont think its cute because not only do i have the cat following me but my two children too.
  • My Akita follows me almost everywhere I go, from room to room, to the basement if I go down there, and he lies near me if I sit down. He's very loyal and protective. And I once had a cat (her name was Nikki) who used to sit patiently outside my washroom door, waiting for me to finish washing up before I went to bed, so she could follow me to bed and sleep with me. If I didn't come out fast enough, she would start meowing loudly.
  • I have four dogs and they all wait patiently for me to go to bed. It's quite fun and I love them - so we all sleep together.
  • My cat would follow me all through the house, even if I wasn't goina be there long, he was Always by my side. I miss that so much :( My dog, she does sometimes, no where near like my cat would. He was my baby =]
  • Dogs I have had do that; cats not so much.
  • My cat can be demanding;0)
  • Yes..dogs and cats...especially if I'm in a rush or late..its like an obsticle course sometimes..lol
  • Yes, when their hungry.
  • Only when I have food.
  • All my dogs follow me almost all the time. A dog following you shows that he respects you as the pack leader. Cats on the other hand are more independant and less pack orineted. They will follow you more so for affection.
  • Yes it get very anoying!
  • Everywhere!!
  • Constantly! I'm her source of amusement despite the numerous toys she has around the place!
  • My dog follows me EVERYWHERE! She will even sit outside the shower and wait for me to get out! If I cook she is sitting right next to my feet. Lately she even makes it a point to put her head on the same pillow I do even though I have 2 other pillows... She is by far the only animal that has ever gotten this attached to me.
  • my dog does, and those rare times when she doesn't I feel like I'm missing something :)
  • My little dog follows me everywhere but she did have two homes before this one. She is now 15mths and we have had her since September. She sits on my feet while I am at the table, on my lap while I watch tele and sits outside the loo while I am in there. I do not mind at all I love her to bits and she is a good girl.
  • yes so much so if I turn around I could trip over him he is a big dog
  • my cat is laying in front of my computor screen as i type - what does that tell you? :D
  • Omg yes! He sleeps with me too.
  • My dog is never more than 2 inches away from me. He's away I might walk thru the wall and disappear and he won't see. Tell you anything?
  • My cats always follow me when they want me to open a can of kitty food!
  • Yes; my pup always wants to be in the same room as I am ....
  • Yes, our female cat follows my husband around.
  • I always say about how my dog is like a kid... he stays right at me feet and if i stop to do something he stares up at me! i love him but, its is so cute and makes me feel loved by him haaha he is growing up so so fast nawww gunna be a big Lab soon not just a cute puppy ;p (im like a proud mother arent i)
  • Only when he can be bothered getting up from his bed lol. If not, he lays there following me with his eyes & occassionally sitting up to look around a corner to see what I'm doing. As soon as my mum comes though he follows her around like she's a magnet & he's a safety pin. If she goes outside & closes the door he whines & whines until she comes back (he thinks that she's going for a walk without him lmao).
  • Never leaves my side, that boy.
  • Every dog I've had, except one, has done that. Even into the loo and stands as near to the shower as he can get! Why, I don't know but every one of them has been OK to leave for a couple of hours. Maybe he likes you??
  • i dont have a dog but they probably do that
