Does anybody find it just gut busting funny that hot topic is owned by the gap? Serously, what could be more insulting that walking into a store and saying "your owned by the gap" and walking out?

• I completely agree with you Bruja. I think the person asking was going for the shock value and also, I think, pointing out that the employees and people who shop at Hot Topic wouldn't be caught dead at the Gap. Like refusing to shop at the same store as your mom. But I know may people who go to Gap for basics like tee shirts and have no problem browsing in a shop like Hot Topic for accessories.

• yes that may be true but there are so many that are slaves to the brand and when I say most i meant most as the majority. Unfortunately people are mostly ingnorant of what you just said so the few that actually strive to purchase sweatshop free cloths dwarf the amount of ignorant people who are ignorant and shop at hot topic thinking they are being anti gap.

• I would chalk the "I'm so anti-Gap I shop at Hot Topic" attitude towards youthful ignorance. The average age of a Hot Topic shopper has to be younger than the average age of a Gap shopper (I would think, at least).

• I wouldn't say that. I would say in highschool half my class shopped at gap. you forget that this is the day in age parents pay for everything and kids are responsible for nothing. if kids in highschool drive bmw's why not wear gap.

• But my point is that you will find plenty of people in their 20's and 30's and 40's and even 50's in the Gap and very few people over the age of 25 in Hot Topic. I am saying that the idea that they are shopping at Hot Topic BECAUSE they think they are "anti-Gap" is because they are young and haven't figured out yet that it doesn't matter where you shop.
