What problems can arise if i use correct RAM type but incompatible frequency?

    RAM frequency can't really be incompatible... if it's the correct type of RAM, the system will work.

    this is because RAM can run at or below the stated frequency. if one chip is slower than another, the second faster chip will just run at the slower speed. or if your motherboard wont support the high speed of your RAM, the RAM will just run at the slower speed of your motherboard.

    this can be bad because if you try to recycle an old memory chip by sticking into your new system as extra ram, you might actually slow down your computer a little.

    in the case of upgrading a computer, this often has no bad effects. if you want to add some new ram and the newer faster ram is cheaper but still compatible, use it.
