I'm taking my first GIANT step towards my career tomorrow, I'm taking my first important test for firefighting. Any good words of advice to calm my nerves? (Or for anyone who ever might be nervous about an upcoming test?)

You know that old saying "Fight fire with fire"? Don't take it too literally.

    You go girl!

Wow! Congratulations! Just remember what a fantastic thing you are doing and that being you and doing your best will always be enough. And that no matter what happens, you will always be loved and respected and live to fight another day. You're going for it! That's more than half the battle! Best of luck!!:)

Oh man, I get so nervous when it comes to big tests. I understand your worry! My research advisor (I'm one of those academic nerds) told me: "Knowledge leads to confidence, and confidence leads to decisiveness." I couldn't say it better myself. If you know your stuff, you are probably more confident than you think. Then you will be able to make the right quick decisions in the face of your fire! The nerves before the test may get shocked right out of your system during the test!

Meditation is a good routine before a test. Sit quietly in a calm enviroment and imagine yourself successfully passing the test and the rewards and prestige you will receive upon completing this task. Good luck.
