5 months female pitbull puppies should weight at 25-32 pounds and male 30-35 pounds, 13-15kg max for female or 15-17 kg max for male. i know, i got a female american red nose purebred pitbull who just turned 5 months today and she weighs in at 13.2 kg, healthly weight. don't get sucked in thinking that pitbull should be big and massive and that they should weight 60 pounds at 5 months or 120 pounds when fully adult. pitbull are a medium sized dog, that were bred for agility and streghth. pitbulls are adult when they are 3 years old, normal weight for a female adult pitbull is 50-60 pounds and male adults 60-70 pounds max. hope this helps.

At 5 mos. old they seem smaller than you really think they should. Puppies play and run around alot- most dogs pitbulls included don't reach true weight until at least 2 yrs old.
mine weighed 25 pounds give or take a few.

My last pit weighed almost 60 pounds at 6 months. The one i rescued from a lady in Tampa was sick and had Hookworms that were eating her food and sucking the blood from her small intestines which was preventing her from gaining weight. She just got over her Hookworms wich cost me almost $400 and she only weighs 39.9 pounds so far. She should be almost 60 at 6 months if i continue to feed her 3 times a day with the yellow bag of iams.

I have a male brindle pitbull and he is 4 months and he weighs around 30-35 lbs. His dad is only 70 lbs and his mom is only 60 lbs. But the owner said that my puppy will be bigger than his dad because when his dad was 11 weeks old he was only 8 lbs.. and my puppy weighed like 15 lbs. I always wanted a big dog, and hopefully he'll get big. He's purebred. I feed him Iams. He has massive huge paws front and back.

My rescued pit/border collie was 37 lbs at 7 months (when we adopted her), and 72 lbs at a year.

I agree with krumplatino. I have had a few pit bulls and the average weight of a pit should be between 30 - 80 lbs. I wouldn't worry too much about puppy weight as long as you're doing what you should be doing to get and keep the puppy healthy. My personal choice for dog food is Castor and Pollux. Not the Cesar Millan line but just the regular. They don't do the horrific animal testing that Iams does and their ingredients are pure. The pit we just rescued has hook worms as well but a lot of dogs do. Just keep them healthy, exercised, and MOST OF ALL LOVED and you will have a happy healthy pit.
