  • The USA in 1969. I stood in the school playground in Parramatta Australia and prayed that the guys would return safely.
  • The Russians on February 3, 1966. Luna 9 was the name of the spacecraft.
  • The Soviet Union's Luna 2 was the first spacecraft to reach the moon, in September, 1959. It sent back important scientific results before impact. Of course it "landed" at thousands of miles per hour and was utterly demolished, though it was designed to scatter Soviet pennants over a wide area upon impact -- presumably still there today. Depends what you mean by land. :)
  • The USA..... or was it??? Will we ever know???
  • i believe it was russia. USA followed suit in 1969.
  • United States of America. But then again it could all be a hoax. http://www.moonmovie.com/moonmovie/default.asp http://science.nasa.gov/headlines/y2001/ast23feb_2.htm
  • The USA landed two men on the moon on July 20, 1969. There were 5 more missions to land on the moon following that day. The US remains the only country in the world to have landed a man on the moon. Historians speculate that the Soviet Union had plans to land a man on the moon during the Cold War, but never made the plans public due to fear of failure. They couldn't get their moon worthy launch vehicle to work well enough so the project was scrapped in lue of the Lunahod program that landed remote control rovers on the moon. China has said they want to land on the moon by 2020, and the US has made plans to return by then. The current US program in place could be ready by 2017.
  • The United States. If youre interested, I recommend a movie called " For All Mankind" It documents the astronauts trip to and on the Moon. It is all based on cameras they took with them, its Very interesting.
  • spacecraft = Russia human = Unites States of America
