  • A big part of depression is with not willing to do anything or want to do anything. There is always special cases, but when I notice people starting to get depressed I ask them about their exercising. I then try to promote exercising as much as I can. Most people who aren't depressed usually exercise. I can't say all I am generalizing. I'm sure there are other factors with chemicals in your brain that put you in a sedentary life style, because you don't want to do anything. Of course their are other type of depression. So I am not covering all basis. It also happens with guys.
  • Im in yr current situation. Also weight gain can happen when u have settled and are in yr comforzt zone. i.e moving house- stress for first few mths but theen u settle and r comfrotable.
  • The weight gain happens to both men and women with depression unfortunately. Some of the drugs prescribed to treat this disorder have weight gain as a side effect. Some other things could be lack of physical activity and increased appetite.
  • Increased eating is just one of the symptoms of depression, just as decreased eating is. Some people can't sleep, some sleep all the time. But it happens to men and women.
  • the meds that i take for depression is what caused me to gain weight. before i was taking meds i was stick thin and now i got some weight to me.
