    How The Modchip Works:

Wires are soldered from the modchip (modification microchip) on the pins of the BIOS. the original BIOS is "replaced" by an altered version. The PS2 now executes this new code instead of the standard sony code and the PS2 will think the software is always correclty signed and anything else that has been hacked into the "New BIOS Code". Some more wires are soldered to other areas of the PS2 mainboard to disable the green-screen and macrovision encoding. Along with a ground connection, to supply power to the modchip.

Modchips are not illegal its what one does with the modchip that makes it illegal; there are legal purposes for installing a modchip. That is why it is legal to sell a modchip almost anywhere; the user of the modchip needs to follow the guidelines of the laws in there area & be Responsible.

A mod chip is a great modification that one can do to their Sony PlayStation 2. Once a mod chip is installed (depending on the mod chip) your Sony PlayStation 2 becomes so much better and can do so much more. For example, the mod chips I install allow people to use their Sony PlayStation 2's to play MP3's, DIVX Movies, ROMS, backup games and DVD's.

They are pretty hard to install. Normally when you order a mod chip it will come with instructions. You have to solder many wires to your Sony PlayStation 2 and it can be a pain.

If you're looking for someone do modify your Sony PlayStation 2, I do them. I've done about 52 so far and they've all come out perfect. All my mod chip installations come with warranty and you are guaranteed a brand new Sony PlayStation 2 if anything goes wrong.

Well I hope this information was helpful. If you want to contact me then e-mail me or visit my site at http://www.accessdenied.cc

A "mod chip" is a chip which forces the console to bypass certain security checks it normally performs upon loading games, thereby enabling users to run pirated -illegal- software on the console. THIS IS ILLEGAL, VIOLATES THE TERMS OF PURCHASE OF THE CONSOLE AND INVALIDATES THE MANUFACTURER'S GUARANTEE.
