Sexual reproduction involves a male and a female of the species to combine genetic information to form a new biological unit.
Asexual reproduction occurs when an animal grows to a certain size then splits into two seperate biological units without the aid of another.

    1) "Sexual reproduction is a way of reproduction of some animals and plants. Some protists and fungi also reproduce this way. Organisms that reproduce sexually have two different sexes: male and female. Offspring is made by a cell from the male and a cell of the female.

Different steps are involved in the process. Each of the two cells has a complete set of chromosomes. Something therefore needs to be done to make sure that the resulting cell does not have two sets of them, only one. This process is called meiosis. The second step is called fertilization. In it, the two cells merge into one. During meiosis, cross over occurs. This makes it possible to get genetic recombination. This means, that for each copying step involved, there is a certain probability of failure. This leads to more diversity in the genome.

There are many advantages and disadvantages of sexual reproduction. Advantages: Allows variation within species that assists with the species survival. Disadvantages: Requires 2 parents."

    2) "Asexual reproduction is also known as agamogenesis. It is a special form of reproduction, where only one parent is needed to make an identical copy of itself. The main process governing asexual reproduction is Mitosis. This type of reproduction is common among simple single-cell creatures like an amoeba. Many plants also reproduce asexually."

Sexual Reproduction occurs when a male and a female mate to fertilize an egg. Asexual reproduction can occur in four different ways: Budding, in which a new animal grows as an extension of the parent. Fission, in whcih an animal is stimulated to divide into two offspring. Fragmentation, in which clones develop from pieces of the adult. Finally, Parthenogenesis, in which offspring grow from an unfertilized egg.

Sexual reproduction is when a male sperm cell is combined with a female egg cell to produce a new offspring.
Asexual reproduction only requires one parent and no sex. That means that the parent can produce an offspring by itself and so therefore the offspring will look exactly like its parent. Basically they are cloned.
