stay away from the gangsta jungles. obey the law. keep your vehicle up to code. all the lights working, so the cops have no reason to stop you.

I'm not an expert on the subject but my cousin was killed by the cops, from what I understand he didnt have the challenging personality not to mention that they killed him when he wasnt resisting arrest. the cops werent in trouble and it was blamed on my cousin.
The best thing I cab say is to just do what they say, dont even defend yourself...it'll give them more reason to get angry. Remember these guys are bullies and not to mention the law. Its their word against yours. I dont think its smart to stand up to them...it seems like they tend to get away with it. Maybe call or txt a friend for help...or call the police and hope they arent like these guys.
Also, to avoid it completly (I'm assumign youre from a racist area)do most of your things during the day. Wak w/ friends at night. Dont leave a place drunk or acting out. Dont give yourself a reason, no matter how small, to be arrested. Avoid confrontation. Say yes sir, no sir (or ma'am).
But overall, I dont think it should be a problem unless youve had a surge of these cases recently. I havent met many cops who would beat people up.
Avoid political conventions and do not take advantage of your right to assemble and address your grievances to the government.
I am 52 years old. I have never been in trouble with the law. My husband is 52 years old. Neither has he.
My parents in law are in their late 70s. They have never been in trouble with the law...does this give you a hint?
-don't disobey the laws
-be respectful
-dress sensibly
-don't hang around with troubled people. Find new friends.
Obey the laws yo...
This video of Chris Rock should do the trick. Very clear yet lighhearted
everyone says 'obey the law'. Well, in a very simplistic way, yes, but when people fight for democracy all over the world, they endure many hardships for their cause. If you're not motivated and angry in a political sense, just be a good citizen and you should be okay, that's if you live in a first world country. If you live in a dictatorship and want the world to hear you, well, not so easy.
When you are stopped driving, pull over slowly after giving a signal. Pull over as far as you can safely. Roll down your window. Turn on the interior lights. Put your hands on the wheel. Be polite, but not talkative. Don't try to talk yourself out of or into anything. Don't argue. Move slowly and only as directed. If you feel you are being treated unfairly, keep it to yourself and share it with someone else later. Remember the details. Obey all orders.
I hope that helps a little bit.
Simple! Keep your nose clean.
I would think that establishing some kind of rapport with officers in your community would help make your fears about brutality go away. If you go out of your way for them, they will go out of their way to be helpful to you. You may offer to buy them a coffee in a coffee shop because you're trying to be a good citizen.

You're reading I worry about police brutality. Can anyone show me a few non-scary pointers of how I can avoid this happening to me?
