There's quite a few barriers between the skin and the brain. The chemicals present in the body spray are mostly harmless perfume, which are designed to not go through the skin..... what use is things that smell good if they're deep in your flesh where nobody can smell them? There's also propellant, although in recent years, this has become harmless non toxic compounds. The skin does a fine job of keeping the ingredients out of your blood stream - so does the immune system, were some particles to leak through the outer skin layers. The key protective element keeping your brain safe is the Blood Brain Barrier. The basic concept is that the blood vessels in the brain are double lined with a membrane that only lets a few select chemicals through - things the brain needs to survive, and not much else. Happy axe-ing! --SP
