Why is that when you see something the second time it seems faster than the first time you saw it?

    Its the same principle as going to a new place to visit. the anticipation of arriving, seems to take forever.

    But, returning home seems like its a lot shorter.

    Returning a second time seems shorter, because the anticipation is not there. you already know what is there, before you arrive.

    The question is ambiguous and not at all clear..

    >Recognition. Tho' it can only take a split second for our brains to process something the first time we see it. It takes even less once we have a mental record of it.

    If your brain is processing faster, then should not that which is being processed be perceived slower??

    Einstein actually had a theory about that..time is relative to one's perception and can't actually be "measured." I think Blair the Magician might be onto something tho..
