You won't find a photo as he has been dead for about 1500 years but there are representations of him if you just google him :)

Cameras hadn't been invented in the First Century AD, so there are no photographs of him. However, there is a photograph of a statue of him here: http://tinyurl.com/ysey3c

Ary came up with a lot of important stuff, revolving the Earth around the Sun 1000 yrs before Nicolai Copernicus, determining pi is irrational, a formula for finding the area of a triangle (independant of Pythagorus), and all sorts of stuff, especially the place value idea, the decimal system, and mebbeee most important the concept of zero. (My source for this is an Algebra Proff who was from India, who tried to broaden our Euro-centric view of the world.) He is definatly the founder of modern MATH, especially with that 0.(Who woulda thunk nothing could be so important?) But if by 'modern number system,' you mean Hindu-Arabic NUMERALS,their early forms were being used in his time, but Ary didn't use them, he used different symbols, mostly letters. Just as symbols, not in the mathematical way the Romans did, he had that decimal idea and the zero, oddly enuff he did not use a symbol for 0, he just inferred it was there. s'anyway here's some artist's concepts of Ary; and a photo of him as a boy, demonstrating why he needs a raise in his weekly allowance; and a pic in his modern incarnation, when he actually went out into the solar system to look around. ( I wonder did Copernicus's friends ever call him Ol' 5 cent Coppernickel?)
