  • Some shots are the bank shot, which is hitting the cue ball into an object ball off a rail and into a pocket. Draw shot, which is putting bottom english on the cue ball, and making it draw back when it hits the object ball.   • Banks, kicks, caroms, and combinations. That's just pocketing balls. (Potting if you're British) As for cue control; draw, follow, stun, stop, stun-run-through (a subtle variant of follow), jump, what I call a traveling jump (where the cue takes to the air after contacting an object ball), and the cushion jump. My girl friend was most unhappy once when I made the only shot available. A kick, combination, carom shot to the side pocket.
