1. Different brands of lipstick have different ingredients and consistencies. High-quality, expensive brand names probably make a difference.
2. They probably have professionals makeup artists whose job is to make the stars look perfect.
3. A little lip gloss on top always helps!
4. Try a lipstick brush for neater application.
5. Try lipliner in the same shade. (I absolutely HATE it when people apply very dark lipliner; it looks horrible.)

I had the same problem too. This is a pretty good guide. The most important thing is to get a good color that matches your skin tones.
