  • I could not afford to retire. I don't have any real savings and with my salary I never will. I will either have to work until I die or retire and live in poverty.
  • My husband retired from his own company at the age of 55. Then he discovered that he was bored and started working at something completely different. Now he's getting involved in yet another different business! He's a workaholic but I think he'd die more quickly if he stopped work. He's the type to work until he dies, literally, even tho' he no longer needs the money. But, all work and no play make Jack a very dull boy, believe me! I happen to think there should be a balnce and then you're moe likely to be healthy and live longer.
  • I retired due to a disability at 57. Had no choice. Actually we get along on the reduced income. It's not a lot, but costs go down when you don't need to work. I wish I could have retired sooner. 50 might be a good age to re-invent yourself.
  • work until you croak.
  • My father retired at age 40 due to health problems. But my mother plans on retiring at the age of 65 :) I myself plan on working till i die!!
  • People should retire when they feel they are ready to retire. That would mean having enough savings to live on if they retire at a young age, to last them until they are old enough for Social Security benefits. I believe some people who are workaholics prefer to work until they die. They would not be happy sitting home everyday when they are used to going to work.
