  • I have actually found that the majority of questions on AB can NOT be easily answered with a google search. Here are some questions that I have supplied answers to here on AB in the past: questions regarding Howard Stern and Sirius Satelite Radio, question as to whether an "Irish Honey Wine" will go well with Lavender Rissotto, questions regarding the Catholic religeon, questions regarding wine-making, questions regarding refinishing antiques, questions regarding sleep. I have also provided comments and ratings for numerous other answers. Google doesn't know what an Irish Honey Wine is, let alone whether it will go well with a Lavender Rissotto!
  • I don't think that many can. The problem with Google is that unless you're an expert researcher it's quite difficult to find the information you need. For example, maybe you want to know how a battery works. Via Google you first have to wade through ten pages of sites selling batteries, then ten more about battery hens, then ten in Hungarian, then ten written by bored scientists arguing that actually batteries work completely differently to the way we thought, and then eventually you might get some information. Or you can just come here and ask "How does a battery work?" someone will answer, and if you don't understand you can leave a comment asking them to explain a little more. You might even get some extra interesting info that the answerer thinks you might also like to know. Also questions like: "I think my boyfriend is cheating, how can I deal with it?" "What's the best way to stop smoking?" Can really benefit from being answered by a real, experienced human being.
  • This is true! However, some answers can't be found on Google. Although, I personally usually use Google, in order, to find out the answers! Some research questions are harder to answer and Google doesn't necessarily always have the right answer. Personally, there's a website that is extremely useful and is called answers.com. Answers.com is like google; however, I find it to be more user-friendly and provides better information on different topics such as people in the Bible, and a host of other intellectual topics. I hope this helps to answer your quesetion! Rememer, if you have questions, then AB has answers! :)
  • Easier to post a question and let others do the search for you. If I have a question to ask the "internet" I become obsessive and search till I get what I want. If its an opinion thing, I ask on here though.
  • why this may be true in most cases ...it hasn't got the human touch that ABers give it ...the kindheartedness and friendliness ...its like going to a auto teller to get money ...sure you get your money but thats all... no smile...no hello and no thank you
  • you are kidding, right?
