No, the 7E7 was only going to be near-sonic - Mach 0.95 instead of the Mach 0.85 of current subsonic airliners. But the airliners said "so what", do they went for the Dreamliner instead. The order book says that this is looking like a very good call. At the time Concorde was being designed, Boeing looked into a competitor, but they aimed too hight (it had to be twice as big as Concorde, and nearly twice as fast) and they decided not to proceed with the project - wisely, as it turned out.

After I wrote that I searched "7E7" in dogpile and I noticed it's the dreamliner. I also think Boeing is interested in supersonic planes similar to Concorde or Tu-144 (which is a copy of Concorde, I said that), because they did some test-flights with an old Tu-144...
