  • You have lemon juice in your hair, of course. But I think it bleaches it some since lemon juice is acidic. It is a totally natural way to get highlights without using heavily damaging chemicals.
  • If used in small amounts (say, a tablespoon diluted in a quart of water) it restores the acid mantle of your hair, making hair shiny. But using too much can be drying and leave your hair hard to manage. The dryness makes your hair look lighter. If you've seen hair with dry ends, you'll notice it can look lighter than the rest of hair. It's the same thing. You should always rinse it out, and it might not be good to use daily. I use vinegar once in a while after I shower, and rinse it out.
  • some people say that it makes your hair look blonde.
  • If you have naturally dry hair and you put lemon juice you are murdering your hair texture completely as lemon juice is acidic and dries out the hair. If you have normally oily hair and add some lemon juice to the final rinse it will help control the oiliness and your hair won't look very sticky.
