  • I've never heard that either, I'm sure it just means if they're in a bad mood :)
  • I think it's a way of asking if someone "pissed in your corn flakes", or if you "woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." Best I can figure, anyway.
  • "Sugar in your tank" will gum up your "works"... It's a reference to wrecking someone's car engine by doing that to the gas tank. (DO NOT do this to anyone's car, lawnmower, tractor, motorcycle, or any other gas-powered vehicle.) Constipation can be a cause of someone being irritated or Grumpy, too. Grumpy may be the only question anyone was thinking of, but to me, I think it would be like asking "Do you need some pepto?" implying "I think you need some..." or "I think you're constipated." ;-)
  • When someone says or ask if a person has "sugar in their tank", he/she is referring to the sexuality of a man on whether he is gay or not. Sugar is sweet and this term is usually used towards men. This would explain why your co-worker was irritated and may have been offended. So I would not recommend saying this to your co-worker as it seems derogatory.
  • When I was told "Oh I fogot you had sugar in your tank" it was meant that I went both ways, sexually! ;)
  • you're asking if they are homosexual
  • I have never heard this except for my brother who swears that this guy Ira used to put sugar in the gas tank of the cars outside.
  • Girls are 'sugar and spice'. If a guy is said to possibly have 'sugar in his tank' it means he's a Sissy! (and maybe gay.)
  • They were calling him gay.
