I agree with you, supersticions are really silly and you dont want to let your life get wrapped up in something like the fear of a number. Its not the number its the reason behind it.
“Britain has dropped the Satanic number 666 from auto license plates,” reports the publication Leaders. According to Annette Welsh, spokeswoman for the British Department of Transportation, drivers complained that the number was responsible for their accidents. One Welshman said that a week after he was issued the number, his water supply was poisoned, his house was burglarized, and his car was demolished by a truck. Actually, Revelation 13:18 applies the number 666 to a symbolic wild beast representing the world’s political system and does not associate it with accidents or similar personal incidents.
When I order breakfast just for me at McDonalds it usually comes to $6.66 and I go eat my evil breakfast. :)
It is silly and I get the implications of the number. I understand why I should not be afraid of it, but every time the cash register rings $6.66 I buy a pack of gum!
Superstition: "An irrational belief that an object, action, or circumstance not logically related to a course of events influences its outcome."
It is only wrong to believe in a superstition when your increase in knowledge and understanding allow you to logically conclude that the superstition has no reality.
Many times superstitions have prevented people from doing things that they were not prepared for or that might be detrimental to themselves or others.
To some, religion is superstition.
yes
yeah, but people are not taking chances, because we are all afraid about the death.
hmm sin, and god seem to fit superstition quite well
The 'Number of the Beast', for those who believe in it, is not a superstition (spellcheck, anyone?) but a prophecy. And there is no hard and fast consensus that it is 666, as the book that contains it was not written with Arabic numerals in it.

Belief in the concept of sin is being supersticious to begin with. Therefore, is belief in the concept of sin a sin?
Even if it was not a sin, it would still be silly.
I do not believe it is a sin. I do believe it is one of those people things like" if a black cat cross your path type crap". So then what happens if you own a black cat and it constantly runs back and forth in the living room ir in the house? Are we suppose to turn and run..I mean that would be an AFV moment Americian Funniest Videos...lol
