  • With the correct and perfect use of the pill alone you have around a 2% risk (on average) of getting pregnant. On a condom, perfect use your risks run the same. However using both does not give you 198% protection, they give you are around 99% protection. Add a spermicide to that add .5% add foam or insert add .2% and so on and so forth. Celibacy is the only 100% change of staying un-pregnant. A woman can use a diaphragm: http://www.mjbovo.com/Contracept/Diaphragm.htm Its about 85% effective. Add that with a spermicide: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spermicide and your lapsed schedule of The Pill and you could be about 99% protected from pregnancy. NONE OF THESE prevent STD's Only a condom does that, and then not completely or not with all STD's.
  • Get the Nuva Ring. You only put it in once a month, and keep it in for 3 weeks, then you take it out for the week that you menstruate, then put a new one in again at the same time each month. It has a 99% success rate! It's awesome.
