call the jail and ask, they'll give you that information

in your county call the main county jail they will be able to tell you if he is in any of the jails in that county. saves you from having to call each on individually. Just because he was arrest by started out at one doesn't mean they haven't moved him to another. If he is in a state prison then look up the number for the prison locators service if you don't have a booking # you will need full name and date of birth they will be able to tell you if he's there where he is
