  • I have been wondering about this, too. To be sold in the U.S., they will still have to meet U.S. federal safety standards. I worry, too, that these cars won't be able to pick up speed fast enough for the very short freeway ramps that are common in more urban areas.
  • For merging, you better floor it as soon as you can. I have the 06 diesel model and speed is non-existent. You're better off hiring someone to run behind and push. As for safety, they are like heavily reinforced beach balls. There's several crash tests online where you can see how safe they are. The new gas ones are supposed to have more torque, but I'm not sure. As long as there's lots of time to merge, they should be OK on the interstate.
  • I work for Smart Center Lynnfield. smart cars are unlike any other vehicle out there today. They are a fuel-efficient, safe, eco-friendly and stylish way to get where you need to go. They go about 90mph, they have both standard and automatic transmission features in every vehicle, and you can custom-build your own if you like! Last thing ... they're a Mercedes vehicle. You can't get any better than that. Any other questions, please email me at lcarlan@smartcenterlynnfield.com
