Question

Help answer this question below.

If a person answers a question, and after the question they post a link to promote another website, do you consider it spam? Even though they didn't refer to the link, in the answer, and answered the question correctly? Would you flag it?

I think I know the ones you mean, a couple of AB users genuinely answer the question and then append a link to a website, almost like a signature.

The fact that they always link to the same website and it isn't relevant to the question they have just answered makes it spam to me - albeit a lot more subtle than most.

I think it depends on the nature of the answer. If this was a one time link that was provided, like it answered the question, then it's fine. Most spammers just answer the same thing for any and every question they answer.. be it how to shampoo your carpet to legalizing abortion.

Yes. I just flagged one of those for a dating site that had nothing to do with the question. I don't care if the question is answered or not. If they include a link that has nothing to do with the question, it's spam in my book.

Usually, it would have to depend on the situation. If this is only temporary and rather just that one answer only, I wouldn't consider it as spam. If they continue to promote another website over and over again repeatably, them that's when it should considered as spam.
