No scientist has ever said we only use 10% of our brains. Scientists, on the other hand have gone to great lengths on various websites, books, articles and interviews to state quite clearly that this is a popular myth and is a belief that has never been held by science.

It is believed that the first use of the expression was in a newspaper commercial for the Rosicrucian society where it appeared alongside a picture of Albert Einstein implying that he said or endorsed this view - he didnt. After that it has been taken up by various get-rich-quick organisations peddling mind training exercises, intelligence boosters and new-age self-help techniques.

Ask yourself: If you honestly believed that would you be happy for a surgeon to take 90% of your brain away?

I think you're right on with that one! We only get to use the 10% because aliens have devised a way to use our brain matter for data storage. Thats why some people recall being abducted by aliens... really what happened is that the aliens' long-distance data retrieval device went haywire and they needed the data from their brains, so they had to come and pick them up for a quick download. Unfortunately the only direct access the aliens have to our brains is through the use of a rectal probe... that does explain all the stories...

From what I remember from watching the Discovery Channel one night: Humans use 100% of their brain, just not all at once. Most scientists agree that we use approx. 15% of our brain all at once.

Acutally, it was Einstein, who asserted that we only use 10% of our brains as opposed to scientists, in general.

Secondly, aliens would NOT need 90% of our brains because they only exist in movies and in our own imaginations.

Actually, the other 90% is there to serve as virtual memory. If it weren't there we would be locking up all the time and would have been born with three buttons on us [cntrl]+[alt]+[delete].

It wasn't Einstein it was Bill Gates.

    Actually:
Einstein did say we only use 10% of our brain. I read it on the internet so it's a fact for sure!

Since aliens don't exist, then the other 90% will be used for something else.
