Only if you want to destroy your records. Buy a stylus (needle). You can get them from very cheap up to a hundred dollars or more.

No no! Once it is broken - its a goner. There are tons of places on line that sell replacement needles. Most are pretty cheap depending on the type of cartridge you have. If the cartridge is original, you can send them the make and model number of the record player and they can identify which needle you need. If you know how to remove the needle, put it on your scanner and scan it. Send it to West Tech Services and they can identify it that way. Gib has needles for everything. www.westtechservices.com

Absolutely NOT ..... You need to replace it ... sorry.

One of the most ridiculous episodes of CSI had a case where a potter recorded the murder on the grooves made in a pot which was on the wheel while the murder was taking place. If it is possible to playback a sound track recorded on a pot, then it must be possible to improvise a stylus! (but seriously - go buy one - it is safer, and never commit a murder anywhere near a potter's studio!)
