Im addicted to COD4, but i recently started playing Halo again. If your playing with a couple friends and they all have mics, Halo is better, but if your by yourself, I prefer COD.

Halo 3 is more difficult to be good at, but COD4 is more realistic in terms of how strong you are obviously. Depends on what type of game you're really into.

COD4 without a shadow a doubt.
Halo 3, i admit, was amaazing back in its September 25th 2007 release but since CoD4 came out it has blown the FPS genre wide open, graphics and multiplayer wise.
Another game not far behind is Rainbow Six Vegas and its sequel. Two top-notch tactical shooters made especially for FPS fans. The graphics and weapons and gadgets are awesome.

halo 3 is good for somone new to the first person shooter because its not as real and u can take some damage but cod4 has a more realistic play and it wont get old because u can have all the different classes and side weps

I like halo 3 multiplayer and the storyline. Call of Duty 4 also has a good campaign. Difficulty on veteran is challenging, indeed. Halo on legendary seems easier to me... overall they’re tied, I think. Halo has vehicles and different games like infection. I’d PREFER halo for multiplayer with my friends although call of duty 4 also has good multiplayer.

Call Of Duty wipes the floor with Halo 3. I mean come on, admit it, Halo 3 was the biggest dissapointment ever witnessed by man, and even if for some reason you like it, it's too easy. Call Of Duty is just amazing, i can't fault it. I can't say i've ever come across an 'aimbot' or it's "poor server capacity" and the online multiplayer is simply amazing.

I have played Halo and Call of Duty but neither of the editions you are asking about. I like the call of Duty series more simply because it has a more historical base rather than a futuristic sci-fi base, but thats a personal preference in genera. I think all the 1st person shooter games are basically the same. I would like to try the new Turak as that was one of the fist shooter games I remember liking.

A while ago, I liked both equally for the different types of gameplay. But, recently, I haven't been able to play COD4 online due to its poor server capacity on XBOXLIVE. Halo 3, on the other hand, rarely has this problem on XBOXLIVE. So, I like Halo 3 more over.

Honestly, Call of Duty is more intense, more fast paced, and requires a tad more teamwork/skill. I like it better because of this.
Halo 3, on the other hand, offers Forge, and the ability to go all out in a big team battle-which is always fun. Halo is a bit slower, not to mention the fact that sometimes really stupid things happen, but other than that, I call it a close second.

I've never been a huge fan of the Halo series, but I could play CoD all day long! World at War is better than CoD4 and both are better than Halo 3 I think. But, halo 3 smokes the pants off of CoD3.
