  • In that age group, make it something fun and "current" so that they can relate. The last thing you want is for the kids to lose interest because the project is something they think they're parents would enjoy, you know?
  • Relax. Talk to them as you would an adult about the art. If they have questions, answer them (unless of course, it's about David's dingy, Venus' boobs, or something like that... ;-) ) You should be able to tell if they don't understand your reference. If that's the case, try to think of something they DO know that relates.
  • Be kind to them, smile, listen to their questions, do not underestimate any comment they make. Try to make them feel that you will help them with anything that they need help with, and that no questions no matter how silly they might seem to us, is not a stupid question.
  • Carry a dart gun and shoot them all several times before you start. When anyone gets out of line, shoot them in the eye. ;)
  • Asides from the great art experience, a sense of organization, and maintaining leadership in a friendly manner...just be thoughtful about time. Have fun!
  • don't just be there friend. they will take advantage of it.
  • Hey! Just be yourself and take two deep breathes. You will be fine!
