If your vehicle has at least 100,000 miles on it, its a good bet the timing belt has broken. here is a good test....start the engine, place in drive and give the engine gas. if the engine revs high and you do not go anywhere, or a major loss of power, its a good bet the timing chain has broken.

No compression means rings are gone, or possibly your cam shaft or head are bad. Car wont start or run with a broken timing chain.
