No. They said that they expected me to do well. And I did. They weren't unreasonable and could have pushed me harder. Luckily for them, I'm naturally a good student.

I was the youngest of six. All my older siblings were high achievers, though in different areas. But, they were never put up to me as "examples" that I should emulate. I was expected to do my best. That is all.

No, I'm from a military family. Everyone was required to do their best, that's what was expected. I always had the feeling that I could always do a bit better, so my desire for improvement was self-imposed.

Yes. I actually never really cared that my friends were better than me in school. I was the best in sports so it was enough.
