  • Congrats on your engagement! I just got engaged two months ago myself and my fiance and I were in the same boat. My suggestion is that you, your fiance and both sets of your parents (assuming that you're all close) sit down and talk about your expectations with this wedding. Be honest and explain your financial concerns. If his parents want to foot the bid for an extravant wedding, let them. If you'd rather elope for reasons other than financial, you and your fiance need to sit down and come to a middle. Remember, the important thing is the marriage itself. And marriage requires compromise. I hope this helps! And congrats again!
  • i am a 38 yr old male...i had a planned marriage gone bad a long time ago....i think that if you elope, that would save a ton of money, and would be really romantic.......my advice to you would be to elope...then, call both of your set's of parent's....as long as you both are of legal age, then, this should not be a problem.......have a party afterwards to invite all of your family member's.....remember that this about you and your partner....take care...Brian.....
