I think the heater core in my 92 crown victoria is gone. It looks tough to replace. I'm too old, tired, and never was good enough, to tackle replacing it. Can I just bypass it by hooking the two hoses together at the firewall? tnx for any help- B

Absolutely! BUT you'll have no heat. It will get rather cold in the passenger compartment. Good idea in a pinch though.

YUp. You'll need a some short pipes or tubing, mebbee some ells, teflon tape rated for hot water, or some pipe dope and some hose clamps. Then not only will you be old, tired, and not good enough, you'll be cold too.(just like me, 'cept for the 'not good enough' I'm better than you are, nyah,nyah) But even so, it's not the bein' upside down in the seats to get under the dash, it's the gettin back out of the car. And then the " Wonder where this weird fastener goes?" when you put the dash, glove box, cigar lighter, etc etc back. Oh, you'll need some cloths or paper towels or a long shirt tail to defog the inside of the windshield. There are some defogger fans that plug into the cigar lighter, if ya didn't screw up the electrical connections and got a place to clamp one. I've done the bypass surgery on several of my heap..er..cars. I try to call ahead and let the commuters know I'm coming, otherwise they just look for the he..car that's wevaing all over, bouncing from curb to median wall to sign post. Dress warm now, buck.
