What does a truffle smell like?

Whilst walking in the woods I saw a patch of Fly Agarics which had been nibbled and partly eaten by some woodland creature. What animal would eat these and would it have any affect?

I have a coffee filter filled with poppyseeds from when I made poppyseed tea about three months ago. I just barely looked at them and they seem to have grown some sort of pink fungus. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Some evolutionary botanists propose that deciduous trees don't lose leaves as a natural consequence of winter and water freezing, but for them to discard a season of fungus-infected leaves. Is this a reasonable hypothesis & what evidence might support it?

You're reading I have 2 types of mushrooms growing in a clump on the ground by a small tree. The 1st kind is a bolete- large, brown on top, slimy, yellow spongy underside. 2nd is i believe a large brown chantrelle with big brown gills. What kind & R they safe 2 eat?
