  • for being caught before yes you have received warnings.
  • Well, that depends, is that what it's going to take to teach you that you can just download or stream them online?
  • you are a repeat shoplifter. 90 days is a bit much though. i think maby 30 days is better for the crime
  • well obviously the first punishments did not work... hopefully this one will! Good luck though!
  • Absolutely!
  • You know, it's a Hell of a lot safer to just download songs from Limewire. I don't understand why you would do it in the first place, because, you have to realize that eventually you are gonna get caught. That's the way it works and that's why crime doesn't pay. Whatever amount of time that makes you stop fits the crime and more time is better than less.
  • No, I think you should get more time, if it was the forth time! Obviously you are not catching on... it is wrong.
  • Are you not banned from Wal-Mart yet? I would find a different place to steal from. Maybe I can send you some used DVD's. Oh well, don't do it again. You will regret it later. I know.
  • Definitely. You had a chance to stop and chose not to. And as a former employee of Walmart, you don't know how freaking annoying it is to have to fill out 30 stolen item files a day because of people who can't just buy things the old-fashioned way.
  • That's a bit difficult to say. What do you think will convince you not to steal other people's property? Whatever that punishment is, that's the appropriate one for your crime.
  • Apparently, the "slaps on the wrist" wasn't enough so now maybe you will learn that there are real consequences for your actions. People have to pay more for what they want because of the few who think they are entitled to what they want for free. You could have downloaded them or you could have simply paid for them as a person with character and integrity would have done. Stealing does not just affect the merchants you steal from, it affects others as well. Since you have been given several chances already, yes, I think the punishment suits the crime.
  • look i got caught stealing once and had to go to jail for 30 days got 2 felony 3 charges and had to pay $50,000 restution to the owner of the change machine i took. paid $6,000 fines and court costs. had to take theft classes, comunity service for 15 months and 5 yrs of probation.
  • I think you should be given more then 90 days since it was your fourth time doing it! The prices in the stores are set so that the company can make back the money they spent on the product and so they can make a profit. When you shoplift, the store makes no money back on the item(s) you stole and takes a loss. Constant losses like this cause prices to go up to make up for those losses. This effects not only the store but the shoppers that shop there as well. This causes an unbalance in the market. For the store(s) that are effected by shoplifting, they have to raise their prices to make up for the losses they incurred. This in turn causes them to be less competative with other stores in the community because the other stores would have lower prices. This in turn, causes less customers to spend money at that store creating even more of a loss which can lead to that company going out of business. It's all a domino effect. Now you see why I said it should be more then 90 days. Richard Shines
  • Yes.Fourth time? How many times did you get away with it?Don't you get that stealing is wrong?
  • Ok, this is about more than DVD's. When you get out of jail, you've got to get some psychological assistance. Family Service Association is in most locals and fees are based upon what you make. How old are you?
  • Yes. You know, maybe you should stop stealing. You're obviously not very good at it... just some advice. :)
  • Don't think of it as jail. Think of it as crime school. Since you failed in real life crime, they are sending you back to school. If you talk with the other failures that you meet in there, gradually you might learn from each others mistakes, without having to make even more of your own! Jail will save you the time and energy of making these amateur mistakes again, and help you to become a better criminal in the long run. Try to be more optimistic.
  • 90 days after four times of being caught. Sounds fine with me. You need to either learn that you should not steal, or just turn your self in for being a thick headed idiot. Watch your cornhole.
  • I think it's about right - maybe it should be longer though *shrugs* If you steal things on five separate occasions, getting caught and punished -every- time, you certainly deserve jail time. Ninety days sounds fair if you were just stealing dvds, but you did this five times? *sigh* The punishment is either 'good enough' or 'lenient', but that will mostly depend on whether or not you are silly enough to try a sixth time upon release.
  • were you actually trying to get someone to say "no, stealing is fine, there's no reason why you should be punished for it" You obviously need punishing, stealing once is stupid, and to be caught four times you've probably done it a lot, or you're just really bad at it. That's the thing, if an intelligent person were to steal they might get away with it, but they're too intelligent to do it in the first place. Idiot.
  • If you were stealing food to survive or feed your family, perhaps I would feel some compassion for you. DVD's are not essential. Clearly you suffer from some type of mental disorder that makes you repeatedly shoplift. Personally, I think you should be made to do community service and get some psychological counseling. I don't see what good locking you up for 90 days will do. It will only serve to prevent you from stealing for 90 days.
  • Well if the film was 9 1/2 weeks it woould be close, or if you got released early for good behaviour then maybe Twenty Eight Days Later would be closer...
  • YOUR A CRIMINAL YOU DESERVE TO BE IN JAIL,BOTTOM LINE.
  • stop it dont do it again. would you like it if i took your things? would you want me arrested if i took your things? think abut it. get a job and pay for it and get help.
  • Yes it does. When you choose the action, you choose the consequence.
  • What DVD's were they? Just curious, and what do you do with them? As far as the question, ninety days seems a little light, actually. Imagine the expense of dealing with your thefts; the people that have to get involved, the legal paperwork - five times that. Seems like a lot of trouble for a bunch of crappy DVD's. Why you do this thing?
  • no 30 days
  • Yes. You are begin sent to jail for being a repeat offender and a general menace to society, not exactly for the DVDs.
  • Yes. Please try to remember that you are a thief at present, but do not have to be in the future.
  • Parole board chairman: They've got a name for people like you, Hi. That name is called "recidivism." Parole board member: Repeat offender! Parole board chairman: Not a pretty name, is it, Hi? Hi: No, sir. That's one bonehead name.
  • Yes. Hopefully you will have learned your lesson. "Don't do the crime if you can't do the time." - Baretta.
  • Four times... GEEZE! I would have thought the first time would be MORE than enough. You're lucky it hasn't been jail before. And, if, when you get out, you feel the urge to do it again, remember the jail time - time away from your family/friends, time to sit and think about going to jail for freaking DVDs, time to think about WHY you do stoopid stuff like that, time to straighten yourself out. Take it as a lesson. If DVDs get you 90 days, what will more get you? You don't mention your age, but if you're under adult age, you may be lucky in not going where the gangs go. If you ARE an adult (or were tried as one), you could go where they are and have MAJOR problems. And, in case you missed my answer, YES... five DVDs is worth between $50-100 or more, and it's your FOURTH offense. 90 days seems about right.
  • yes! wow when u go to jail your are going to be the least respected and most beat up guy there... harold: so jim what are you in here for? jim: i hotwired a porsche and killed 5 people harold: hey new guy what are u here for? YOU: i stole six DVDS prisoners: HAHAHA!! *pow pow* rape*
