A nurse told me once that God made babies cute so that when they get older you have all ready grown to love them. Maybe it the same with animals.

I think it's because their features resemble human babies (large eyes, bigger head in proportion with their body) and we are biologically programmed to find human babies cute.

Because they are miniatures of what they are to become, they are differant and unique, new to the world and their surroundings that stimulate the unique traits of brain development and the learning processes. They have a natural love and bond to their parents that cannot be fathomed or defined. The cute fuzzy exterior is just part of the package.
