I had the same problem....they had to flush out the heater core. we now have heat!! yea!! you might try it!!

Could be a stuck thermostat. The thermostat has a small bypass in it, but it could cause the overheat situation and not allow good circulation through the heater core, therefore no heat inside the car.

i am having the same problem, cold air and starting to overheat, i added new antifreeze 50/50 and replaced the Thermostat ( fail safe type ) , flushing out the radiator and cooling system is my next option, I will update if it solves the problem or not

Take it to a shop and have them flush it out. The rust may have clogged the heater core and/or killed the thermostat. Always use a 50/50 mix of coolant, when you add too much water it can cause the coolant passages in your engine to rust.

I Have the same problem.. I changed the thermostat and that didnt work.. brought it to a shop and the did a pressure check on my radiator.. No problems there.. Still overheating and getting cold air! Now What? Head Gasket gone bad? Heater Core? I dont know :( HELP
