An activity disorder affects someone's overall activity level. Hyperactivity disorder, for example, means that someone is over-active, they are constantly moving and doing various things, and it is probably hard for them to concentrate on a single task for an extended period of time. If a child is hyperactive, it will probably be difficult for their parents to control, discipline, or even keep up with them. Hyperactivity is similar to attention defecit disorder (ADD) which also prevents one from focusing on specific tasks.

Psychiatric disorders are defined by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual and there is no category called "activity disorders." However, I suppose one could argue that hyper- or hypo-activity might be informally described as activity disorders. In the DSM-IV, hyperactivity is a syndrome not a disorder, but the general category for ADHD is "Disorders Usually Diagnosed in Childhood or Adolescence."
