What method of typing do you use? (Touch-typing or hunt-and-peck or something else?)

    I'm pretty good. I have to type a lot at work so it is pretty much a requirement to be able to type well.

    I use hybrid form of touch typing and hunt and peck - I use all my fingers like with touch typing, but I glance back and forth between the screen and the keyboard to make sure I'm hitting the right keys and to make sure I'm not making any typos.

    I don't know the technical term for it but it is the classic tying method I was taught in my high school typing class. My fingers resting across the a,s,d,f,j,k,l,; and thumbs on the space bar and remembering where the keys are on the keyboard.

    I am a pretty dang good "touch" typist, but I am not as fast as some secretaries. Then again, there has yet to be a real opening for male ones!

    Even though I was trained to use the home row on an old Smith-Corona typewriter.
    These tiny keyboards on my laptops have forced me to hunt and peck.

    I'm actually a pretty good typer. It was forced on me in middle school where they made us keep something over our hands so we couldn't look at the keyboard.

    I touch type but I still look at. I haven't learned typing. Just with mere practice. 40 odd words per minute counts to be good?

    I touch type but its no where near being the 'propper' touch type method, my hands are all over the keyboard. Its amusing since it drives certain people nuts that I can still manage 70wpm with my 'chaos theory' (as its been called) method of touch typing :).
