• better yet why have you not asked the same question before me.What i know of the fathers of the church is that they took a vow of celibacy, but alot of them not all of them could not suppress their human need of flesh. so in their haste looked upon people whom the fathers thought not to say any thing becaue who would beleive a child of lets keep it clean under 10 so goes the secret, i have a problem with how much money they have billions of accounted monies, and not to say the unaccoundted billions, for which the church know quite well that they could buy the church and it's faculty out of any unethical situation.

• the Catholics have so much money that they can buy themself or its practising order out of pretty much any such accuisitions and or breaches of trust at the expense of the innocent. No rant thats all i was saying

• What I was looking for was a comparison, you see, it was brought to my attention that the catholic church has as much money as the treasurey of many western countries, Thats all I wanted to know, and for some reason some one poked at the pot and started me going down a path of controversy, and my original question begged for nothing of the kind, I wanted to know to compare to other very rich organizations thats all, I don't want to argue.

  I am unsure why anyone would be getting worked up how much money the church has?
  
  The church owns property so does any large corporation. But unlike any large corporation the church does a huge amount of work. Including provides the most medical facilities in Africa, lobbying government to reduce debt woes on developing countries as well as environmental conversation.

  And think about the last few years and ask yourself...if the church was responsible for:
  1. The war on terror
  2. The GFC
  3. Natural disasters
  4. Civil war in Africa
  5. AIDS
  6. Environmental degradation
  No? But yet they have spent billions in money and hours raising awareness to these issues and involved in community development projects.
  It isn't up to one organization to change but all of us. Have you engaged in charity work lately?
