My boyfriend and I signed a year rental lease in Nov. We broke-up and he decided to move out in Jan. and left me with the bills and rent. Is he legally binded to continuing to pay his portion due to his name being on the lease? Can I do anything legally?

This advice is not from a legal beagle, but I'm certain your ex is still legally responsible for half of the lease/debts. Yes, you can do something - see an attorney and take him to court .... and include your legal fees and related expenses in the suit! Good luck & God bless!

Yes. You are both liable to the landlord, so if you stop paying the landlord can go after either of you, or both of you.

But you can sue him for his portion of the unpaid rent and and bills for services he consumed.
