A criminal act has been committed, by the person or car lot, that sold you this vehicle. first, i would call the police to make a report for fraud. second, take photos of the purchased vehicle, especially showing the vehicle identification number. third, make a certified copy of the bill of sale, showing the sellers name and address. you are building a case for civil and criminal court.

After completing the above, i would take a witness and confront the seller of the liened purchased automobile. take mental notes on the sellers answers.

Contact an attorney and file civil charges against the owner/seller/car lot. unsuspecting people get burned every day, by purchasing a liened automobile. this is a win, win situation for you. both in civil and criminal court.
